Welcome to First Christian Church of Stockbridge, Student Ministries. Acts 1:8 states “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (ESV)
It is my desire as a youth minister and as dedicated youth workers to reach out to the youth of our Jerusalem, so that we might bring that one lost soul into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. With this in mind, First Christian Church of Stockbridge Student Ministries seeks to provide a caring place of hope that will build faith, character, self-esteem, and life skills in each child/teen/parent.
Our youth ministry relies solely on the word of God, the Bible. We seek to bring God’s word alive through Sunday morning Bible study, Sunday evening high school small group Bible study, Tuesday evening middle school small group Bible study, as well as Wednesday evening Christian discipleship groups.
In addition to intense Bible study, the youth also worship together each Sunday morning with communion and a message that will bring them closer in their relationship with Jesus Christ and is practical in their daily life.
In addition to regular Bible study and worship, we conduct regular service projects in our community at large, as well as inner city mission projects in the Atlanta metro area. In doing service projects, God’s word actually comes alive in their lives as well as those they serve. They practically put God’s word into action thereby understanding how Jesus ministered to us in a like manner.
First Christian Church Youth Ministries values education to our youth. As a result, our youth minister regularly visits the schools of our youth to eat lunch with each student. We also view school spirit as important to the education of our youths. Therefore, our youth minister goes to local school sporting events to interact with our churched teens as well as reaching out to the unchurched teens that are there.
First Christian Church Youth Ministries also believes in the idea of Mentoring. Our youth minister mentors a group of middle school boys every Thursday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm as well as high school boys every Tuesday from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm.
First Christian Church Youth Ministries also believes in fostering activities that promote fellowship between our youth and our sponsors. With this in mind, our youth minister regularly schedules events outside of the church once a month, as well as other activities during the summer months.
First Christian Church also believes in the idea of Christian parenting. Our youth minister encourages regular parent participation in all activities that goes on in our youth ministry programming. In addition to this, our youth minister is developing parenting programs to help our parents better understand the life of their teenager(s).
We sincerely hope that you find a place to plug yourself and your youth into our youth ministry programming.
